Barcola move from PSG to Liverpool 'on track': source
Transfer talks between Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain over an Anfield move for Bradley Barcola are "on the right track", a source close to the negotiations said on Thursday.
The France winger has already agreed personal terms with Liverpool, according to several media reports.
The two clubs have reportedly agreed a transfer fee which could rise to 140 million euros (£120 million, $163 million).
That would make Barcola Liverpool's second-most expensive signing, after Alexander Isak, and would be the most money ever paid for a Ligue 1 player.
Barcola is yet to play for PSG this season amid the transfer speculation.
Liverpool have been looking to strengthen in wide areas since the departure of club great Mohamed Salah at the end of last term.
They have already signed Spain winger Victor Munoz from Osasuna in the current transfer window.
Barcola would be a statement signing for new Reds manager Andoni Iraola.
The 23-year-old scored three goals for France during their run to the semi-finals at the recent World Cup.
He was not always first-choice at PSG, with Ousmane Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Desire Doue providing stiff competition for places.
But Barcola still played a key part in the capital giants winning back-to-back Champions League titles.
He has also won three Ligue 1 titles and two French Cups with PSG since joining from Lyon in 2023, scoring 39 goals in 152 appearances.
Liverpool are bidding to bounce back from a disappointing campaign last season, when their Premier League title defence ended in a fifth-placed finish, leading to the sacking of boss Arne Slot.
They rescued a 2-2 draw at Newcastle in their opening game of the season last weekend.
Luis Enrique's PSG have been busy in the transfer market, selling Goncalo Ramos, Randal Kolo Muani and Lee Kang-in, while bringing in Maghnes Akliouche, Ferran Torres and Lucas Digne.
